What is un-American? Is it difficult to define? Who gets to decide what un-American is?

What is un-American? When you think about it some stuff that we have in America is un-American such as crops, food, and materials. Certain tradition otherwise is un-American such as the things people eat, do, and believe is un-American. Some might say arranged married is un-American. Is it difficult to define? Un-American is really hard to define but, un-american is everything but being American. Being American is a whole different situation. To be American doesn't have any types of beliefs because it's made with many different types of beliefs. There were many religions and beliefs that didn't start in America. Who gets to decide what is un-American? Well, of course the people. They get to decide what's un-American is because they have the right to have freedom of speech, so they have the right to say what's un-American and what not.

Lap 7 project blog

In a group with four people, we all divided the work. We managed our time to work hard and did research to find the source to our answer. As a group we was organized, focus on our topic, and we barely worked individual, we had worked as a team. We would ask each other for help if we needed it.We all worked at our own pace but, in the end we managed to get the work done in time. While we were reading, we understood the interaction between business and the American government. Obama's stimulus plan was to save the existing jobs and create more new jobs. But, there was not enough jobs for the economy. There were some failure with economic issues, financial issues, and social issue.

What does it means to be American?

To be an American it could mean to share a set of values and ideals. You don't have to be a particular national, religious, and/or ethnic background. Also, to be American means that you are to commit to the abstract ideals of equality. There are many opportunity and to live in a land full of freedom. Finding privileges and having the rights to say what you want to say. Being American can have many different benefits. Americans have many opportunity to a good education. Many countries are less fortunate to have this opportunity. Having pride and  being proud on what the United States has accomplished in your country is one important aspect to be and American. It is very important for Americans to study the history of their country because many important events happened. Americana should be reminded of what the country had endured in the past. This what made American who they are today.

What purpose do primary documents serve in history? How has the world of primary documents changed in the past two decades? What impact will this have on the "telling" of history?

The purpose do the primary documents serve in history is that it’s document of events, stories, news, and etc. That published or happened during that time. People used primary document because it's the first source and we can't go back in the past. Without primary source we in the present wouldn't have the proof of where the document came from. Historians use it to analyze the events in the past. The world of primary documents changed in the past two decades by helping people find the right source of information. Why would people want to get information that is not the primary source. Sometime, when it’s not the primary source, people can make up stuff and give you the wrong set of information and details. The impact that this have on telling of history is that primary source is really important. It is basically a document revealing personal information that are contained in news, books, articles, and etc.

Discuss how culture influences your lives: How has culture made you the people that you are today? How different would you be had you grown up in a different culture?

Culture has made me the person who I am today by becoming one huge aspect that is a part of my life. Without culture, I wouldn't know who I am now. It made me realize that where my cultural roots had come from has a unique history and background. Learning and tracking down where my family originally came from is also unique. Especially, how your parents tell stories about where they were born. If I had grown up in a different culture would it be different? Well, I'm already grown up in a different culture. I'm Cambodian, but had adapted to American culture. So, the real question is "do I feel different?" Yes I do. Between my culture and the American culture, we do things differently. For example, our holidays are celebrated in different ways compared to American holidays. Living in the two cultures really had changed me.
